Chapter 1: What is Global Warming?

Global warming is the idea that Co2 produced by humans is slowly forming 'greenhouse gases', which are holding in the sun's heat, making the planet warmer. Which in turn will melt the polar icecaps, increase the ocean level, drown thousands of polar bears and penguins, and somehow destroy the planet.

You know, it's interesting. I typed 'How is global warming destroying the planet?' into the Google search engine, and it brought up thousands of other sites. I scrolled through the first page. Fat people cause global warming. Perfume is widening the ozone hole. People are responsible for global warming. Travel junkies are destroying the planet. Cars are causing global warming.

And I didn't even get to page two.

You know what causes global warming? Living. I'm not kidding. If you never hold a job, travel anywhere, own a car, eat meat, wear no perfume, and whatever other hoops environmentalist wackos will make you jump through, you'll still contribute to global warming.

How is this, you ask? Co2. Carbon Dioxide. Every time you breath, you take in oxygen and exhale Co2. There's no way around it. This does not, however, mean that you should purposely stop breathing. And neither I, nor Blogger, nor Google, are going to be responsible for your being dumb if you do that.

There's another side to this story, and it's one that the environmentalist wackos almost never point out. Trees remove Co2 from the air and use it in photosynthesis.

It's true. Another true fact is that the temperature has only gone up 1 degree Fahrenheit in the last 100 years.

1 degree of change in 100 years. This is what Al Gore and his cronies are getting so uptight over. One whole degree.

You can't get away from Co2. It's everywhere. But trees and plants take that Co2 and give us oxygen in exchange. Temperature fluctuates. History tells us that. But Al Gore and the Tree Huggers have blown it up to a point where we have to quit everything that produces Co2 in order to stop the world's imminent destruction. It's nuts.
